The Brussels-based Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) has announced that Daniela Waizel Rule has joined the association’s communications team as of April 1.
Recently awarded a master’s degree in communications and digital media in Europe from
Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Waizel Rulehas a strong understanding of current innovations in the communications sector and new EU-level digital communications regulations, BIR says.
In parallel to her studies, she has held several internships and freelance communications work, including helping to organize various cultural and community events, providing press office support for film festivals and working as a freelance music journalist.
Originally from Mexico, Waizel Rule also has lived in Germany and Belgium, having completed her studies in Brussels. This has given her a global mindset and provided her with language skills in French, Dutch and German in addition to her fluency in English and her native Spanish, BIR says.
“I am delighted to welcome Daniela to the BIR communications team,” says Elisabeth Christ, BIR communications director. “Her international background, strong communications expertise and team-spirited nature make her a great asset to the BIR secretariat.”
BIR Director General Arnaud Brunet adds, “The expansion of our communications team reflects the emphasis that BIR is putting on enhanced and diversified communications work. I look forward to Daniela’s contributions to BIR’s outreach and engagement with our global membership.”
Waizel Rule will attend the BIR’s World Recycling Convention in Valencia, Spain, May 26-28.
