Big Sky Packaging has targeted the beauty products packaging segment as one it says is poised to use aluminum as an alternative to plastic to help companies meet sustainability and recycling targets.
The New Jersey-based company has submitted an essay to the United Kingdom-based CosmeticsBusiness.com website saying in part that beauty brands have “embrace[d] the allure of sustainable packaging.” Adds Big Sky, “The aluminum packaging trend [is] sweeping through the beauty industry with its undeniable benefits.
The packaging design firm’s pitch for aluminum lists environmental sustainability as the “most significant perk” when beauty sector brand owners choose aluminum.
“Aluminum can be recycled indefinitely without losing its quality,” writes Big Sky. “By leveraging aluminum packaging, brands can contribute to reducing waste and conserving natural resources.”
On its own website, Big Sky offers what it calls the “All You Need to Know About Beauty Packaging Complete Guide,” which also focuses in part on the recyclability of aluminum. That longer essay also looks at the benefits of other materials, including plastic, paperboard and glass.
Big Sky designs and engineers packaging for several consumer products sectors, including beauty and cosmetics, wine and spirits and personal care.
