BHS Announces Changes

Equipment company names new president.

Bulk Handling Systems has announced the appointment of a new president, Bruce Farnsworth, assuming the position formerly held by Fred Austin. Farnsworth looks to continue and expand upon the company’s reputation and success. “Bruce has a track record of strengthening customer and vendor relationships, while building upon fundamental values of quality products and superior customer service,” said Austin.

The Kasten Group an O'Fallon, Ill.-based mergers and acquisitions firm recently acquired a stake in the privately owned equipment company.

Sean Austin will remain in his current position of vice president of Sales, while Fred Austin will work on a consultancy basis during the transition period. BHS will continue day-to-day business as usual with a commitment to complete customer satisfaction and a renewed emphasis on innovative product development. Both Fred and Sean retain a minority interest in the company, while Bruce holds a principal equity position.

Bulk Handling Systems, headquartered in Eugene, Ore., designs, manufactures, and installs material handling equipment for the Solid Waste & Recycling Industry, as well as the Wood Products Industry. The company’s equipment is operating in twenty-three countries throughout six continents.
