bGreen Recycling Program Expands to Cardboard, Metals and In-House Service

New materials and on-site assistance complement the national plastic scrap removal service.

Optiglass PC, a plastic sheet and film supplier based in Statesville, N.C., has expanded its bGreen recycling program to include cardboard and metals. bGreen, marketed as a nationwide, full-service recycling program, was initially launched for the removal and recycling of industrial plastic polycarbonate and acrylic sheet drop and scrap.

The company says the expansion of bGreen provides clients an efficient method of removing, recycling and recapping equity on a wide variety of waste materials including corrugated boxes, pallets and plastic wrap. The program is also designed to help clients to maintain top environmental health and safety ratings while keeping waste out of landfills. According to Optiglass, bGreen offers onsite service in which a representative works in-house at a client’s site handling its recycling services.

Clients participating in bGreen receive bins or containers for depositing recycling waste. These containers are strategically placed onsite and once filled, are routinely swapped out, either on-demand or through a scheduled replacement cycle. The waste material is then brought to Optiglass PC’s facility where it is weighed, segregated and inventoried until processed. A settlement report is then sent to the client with gross and net weights. Participants of bGreen are issued a check within 30 business days, the company says.

“The expansion of bGREEN is a result of our client’s needs for waste minimization. We are continually seeing an increase in the demand for waste removal,” says Rick Filiault, president of Optiglass PC. “It’s not just plastic anymore; they are taking a serious look at what other materials can be recycled.”
