Best Buy Co., Inc. has awarded its first wave of consumer electronics recycling grants to help 60 organizations host their own recycling events. More than 500 applications were received in the first two months of the program. Grants totaled around $70,000.
The average grant amount was $1,150. The program provides two streams of grants - support for events hosted by 501(C)3 nonprofit organizations, and support for events hosted by other organizations in cities and townships across the country (e.g., cities, counties, public-private partnerships).
