The Confederation of German steel recycling and waste management companies, BDSV, has announced that it will elect two new officers at the confederation’s annual conference, set for Nov. 25-26, 2015, in Magdeburg, Germany.
Heiner Gröger, who has served as president of BDSV since 2009, will not seek another term as president. In addition, Deputy President Ulrich Althoff will no longer compete for re-election.

To succeed Heiner Gröger as president, the Bureau of BDSV has proposed the 49-year-old Andreas Schwenter, director of the steel recycling and trading company Frimberger GmbH, located in Bad Toelz, Germany. Schwenter has also served as chairman of the Junior Circle of BDSV and as chairman of the BDSV South Region.
For the position of deputy president, the association has nominated Stuttgart entrepreneur Stephan Karle, who is the son of Honorary President Jürgen Karle, both of Karle Recycling GmbH in Stuttgart. Stephan has served as chairman of the BDSV Junior Circle.
As treasurer candidate the bureau again has nominated Günter Gottschick who has held this office since 2003.
