The 17th International Congress for Battery Recycling, organized by ICM AG, will be Sept. 12–14, 2012, in the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
About 200 delegates are expected to attend the congress.
The following topics are slated to be discussed at the three-day meeting:
- Worldwide battery legislation;
- Safety issues and transportation regulations;
- The future of LEV (light electric vehicle), EHV (electric hybrid vehicle), PEHV (plug-in electric hybrid vehicle) and EV (electric vehicle) battery systems;
- The success of lithium-ion battery technologies;
- Country reports on collection and recycling;
- Best available technologies for battery recycling;
- Recycling efficiency; and
- New recycling technologies and processes.
The congress is also offering plant tours to:
- DELA GmbH, Dorsten, Germany;
- Umicore Battery Recycling, Hoboken, Belgium; and
- Van Peperzeel B.V., Lelystad, Netherlands.
The congress also will have an exhibition area. A cocktail reception and networking dinner also are scheduled.
