"For just over 10 years we have been offering this program to District residents. To date, we have collected more than 30,000 batteries which demonstrates the continuing need for this collection," said Tim Wasserman, Director of the Ottawa-Sandusky-Seneca Joint Solid Waste District.

Batteries can be recycled and used to make new batteries, cable coverings, light bulbs, electronic equipment, radiation shielding and other useful products.

When you transport your battery to the collection site remember to keep it right-side-up and carry it in a wooden box or leakproof container.
