The Baton Rouge Metro Council approved a contract with Natural Resources Recovery Inc., a locally owned company, to process a number of bulky materials, including wood waste, white goods, scrap tires and yard waste.
According to local press reports the company was the only bidder on the contract, and the contract length is for 10 years.
