Bateman Manufacturing, a GRYB International company, launched its newest scrap and recycling grapples at the ISRI2023 (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries) Convention & Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Ontario-based manufacturer of grapples, generators and clamshell bucket attachments for material handlers introduced its 160 Series of products, which includes a magnet grapple and a four-tine orange peel scrap grapple.
According to Bateman, the magnet grapple and orange peel grapple are designed to be the toughest in the industry and have greater impact protection, longer life and optimized work time. Features of both products include:
- improved rotator guarding for greater impact protection;
- larger pin diameter and improved bushing design with seals for longer life and optimized work time;
- newly designed double-wall cylinders that include return oil channel, eliminated exposed hoses and risk of damage;
- fully enclosed cylinder guards and zero chrome exposure;
- a more robust body for durability and greater cylinder protection as well as a thicker frame design for better pin support and hose guarding;
- an improved magnet bolt retainer; and
- improved tine design for optimal scrap penetration and material collection with hardfacing on the tip area for durability.
Additionally, Bateman says the magnet grapple features an improved magnet bolt retainer.
The 160 Series grapples are compatible with material handlers produced by Caterpillar, Doosan, Hitachi, Sany, Sennebogen, Liebherr, Link-Belt and Fuchs.
