Former Keywell executive Barry Hunter, who is also the current president of the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), is the co-founder of a new metals trading and consulting company called Hunter-BenMet Assoc., New York.
Hunter has teamed with Derek Benham, president of BenMet NY, to form the new partnership. According to the duo, the new firm will “focus on consulting services and trade activities for users of both primary alloys and secondary materials.”
Hunter has nearly 40 years of experience in scrap processing and trading operations, as well as significant experience representing the industry through trade associations and organizations such as BIR.
Derek Benham has spent his career in the trading of primary metals, with an emphasis on nickel, vanadium, cobalt, ferro-alloys and minor metals. His firm BenMet NY will continue to operate as a primary metals trading firm.
“In relationship to scrap, information today is probably the most important resource required to effect positive change,” says Hunter. “Between Derek and I, we can offer a combination of experience that can assist decision-makers around the world.”Latest from Recycling Today
