Austin, Texas-based Balcones Recycling, a Circular Services company, is offering its commercial recycling services to businesses in Phoenix and surrounding communities, helping increase diversion, recover materials and advance the city’s zero-waste goals.
Balcones says this expansion builds upon its foundation in Phoenix as the operator of the city’s two material recovery facilities (MRFs).
“Phoenix has long been a leader in sustainability, and we’re excited to take our partnership with the city and local businesses to the next level,” says Brent Hildebrand, president of operations at Balcones. “By expanding our services, we’re making it easier than ever for businesses to keep valuable materials in circulation and out of landfills.”
Balcones’ commercial recycling solution is available to businesses of all sizes in the greater Phoenix area. The company also offers advisory services to help businesses identify opportunities to recover more materials and maximize the financial and environmental benefits of recycling.
As previously reported by Recycling Today, Plessisville, Quebec-based Machinex recently partnered with the city of Phoenix to design a residential single-stream system, managed by Balcones. The 30 tons-per-hour system is engineered with Machinex’s Mach Trommel front-end solution; two Mach Ballistic Separators; the SamurAI sorting robot powered by the company’s proprietary artificial intelligence (AI); and 11 Mach Hyspec optical sorters.
