Axion Engineering Signs Agreement with Nestro to Market Air Separation Equipment in the U.K.

Axion says the deal will expand its machinery range in Europe.

Axion Engineering

, headquartered in Bramhall, U.K., has signed a sales and marketing agreement with

Nestro Lufftechnik GmBh

, based in Germany, to market Nestro’s air separation products and technologies in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Axion Engineering designs and builds processing plants for recycling companies.

Nestro designs and produces air separation products and vacuum systems for sorting lightweight films, paper and dust from heavy product fractions in the woodworking, waste-to-energy and scrap plastic recycling industries.

According to an Axion release, the company made the decision to market the air separation equipment after visiting several Nestro installations in Europe.

“Nestro’s innovative and novel air separation products will extend and complement the current range of machinery available through Axion’s partnership with other plastics equipment suppliers,” says Keith Freegard, Axion’s director.

Seyed Bousari, Nestro’s sales manager, says, “I believe that as a leading specialist in the plastics recycling sector, Axion is the ideal partner to promote Nestro technology in the U.K. Looking to the future, I envisage a long and fruitful cooperation between us.”

Nestro’s equipment is designed to retro-fit into existing MRFs or for new plant installations. The company says that the equipment provides a solution for lights separation and creates opportunities to convert the material into a recyclable resource.

“MRF operation managers often respond to a change in the incoming material mix by increasing the level of manual sorting; however the extra labor required to efficiently remove plastic film waste is not viable. Nestro air separators are a far more cost-effective solution,” Freegard adds.
