TieTek LLC and Avangard have sign an agreement to continue their joint alliance, first created in 2001. Avangard will procure and pre-process all the plastics used by TieTek.
TieTek produces composite railroad crossties that use recycled raw material. It’s product line is used in more than 20 states, as well as six countries outside the U.S.
Avangard already has supplied TieTek with around 20 million pounds of the material. The company expects to increase its capacity to allow it to supply more than 50 million pounds a year as TieTek quadruples its production capacity.
Production from the first of TieTek’s two manufacturing lines at its Marshall, Tex., plant is scheduled to start next month.
Avangard has facilities in the USA, Mexico and Central America with global sourcing capabilities for all types of plastics. Avangard's plans include installation and operation of a new HDPE processing plant at Marshall, Texas, that would be dedicated exclusively to generate the incremental HDPE volumes needed to support the TieTek production.
