Autocar LCC, headquartered in Hagerstown, Ind., has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.
“Autocar’s ISO 9001:2000 certification represents a significant stride forward in the implementation of the Autocar Continuous Improvement Process (ACIP), which embodies the company’s culture and serves as the foundation for its growth and continued success,” says Jim Johnston, president of Autocar.
ACIP incorporates lean manufacturing concepts and a unique alternative problem solving process with ISO 9001:2000 compliant processes to ensure that Autocar remains focused each day in every task on exceeding the expectations of its customers, according to the company.
Autocar’s ISO 9001:2000 certification is the culmination of a company-wide effort that was strategically placed in Autocar’s growth plan at a time when management was confident that its results would be sustainable.
“At Autocar, we believe that it is extremely important to say what you do and do what you say,” Johnston says. “For Autocar, ISO 9001:2000 is the means by which we ensure we live up to that standard in ACIP,” he adds.
Autocar LLC, is a manufacturer and marketer of LCF Class 8 trucks and is an affiliate of Highland Park, Ill.-based GVW Group LLC.
