HMR Group of Companies, headquartered in Australia, inaugurated a new electronics recycling facility in the Manila, Philippines area late last month. The facility covers more than 3,000 square meters. The facility’s focus is on de-manufacturing and re-use of electronics components and processing machinery generated by export zone enterprises.
The HMR Group operates similar facilities in California, including plants in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Sacramento. The company’s Sacramento Central Processing Facility, covering more than 140,000 square feet, acts as the recycling and de-manufacturing branch for the USA Division.
One of the main features of the new facility is a sealed Cathode Ray Tube crusher patterned after those the company uses in both the United States and Australia. The crusher is equipped with a hepa filtration system to allow production of glass cullet without the introduction of dust into the atmosphere. The leaded glass will be further processed by a primary or secondary lead smelter.
Other services offered by HMR include on-site and off-site auctions for redundant plant and equipment, assured destruction of software and hardware, and resale of warranted, refurbished spare parts and equipment to maintenance engineers.Latest from Recycling Today
