The supervisory board of Aurubis AG, Hamburg, Germany, a copper producer that consumes some 340,000 metric tons of red metal scrap annually, says its CEO Peter Willbrandt has informed the Aurubis board he will not stay on as a member of the board after March 31, 2015.
Aurubis’ supervisory board will begin succession planning. The company says in a statement that should it become necessary in the course of the procedure to add an interim member to the executive board with, it will transfer Dr.-Ing. Bernd Drouven from its supervisory board to the executive board for a maximum period of one year. In that case, Drouven would also preside over the executive board, says Aurubis.
