The Penta Series of light hydraulic breakers from Atlas Copco Construction Tools Inc., West Springfield, Mass., is targeted toward several key demolition and recycling segments.
With service weights ranging from 200 to 795 pounds, Penta Series models are being marketed as ideal for road construction, light demolition, landscaping and for smaller trenching applications.
The breakers feature Krupp percussion technology, purchased by Atlas Copco when the company acquired the Krupp hydraulic hammer business from Krupp Berco Bautechnik of Germany in 2002.
In the Penta Series, the smaller PB 110V model is suggested for use with mini-loaders while the largest model, the PB 420V can be fitted to standard backhoes.
The Penta breakers are equipped with the VibroSilenced damping system with elastic acoustic insulation, which Atlas Copco says reduces noise by 18 decibels, making the Penta breakers among the quietest in the industry.Latest from Recycling Today
