Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., has announced the sale of a 98115 Shredder system to Atlantic Scrap & Processing of Kernersville, N.C.
The system will be installed in Atlantic Scrap’s new Wilmington, N.C., site and should be operating in the fall of 2006, according to a press release from Harris.
The heart of the plant, a Harris Shredder HS98115 shredder, will feature a 6,000-hp Toshiba drive motor, a complete infeed system with Harris’ heavy-duty double feed roll system and a low maintenance disc rotor manufactured by Harris Shredder.
When operational, the shredder plant will have the capability of processing more than 200 tons per hour. The dry downstream material separation system is engineered by Harris Shredder using other high quality suppliers.
Atlantic Scrap & Processing LLC (ASAP) currently owns and operates four full service recycling facilities located throughout North Carolina. “We are very excited about the new Harris Shredder system,” says Bill Perry, vice president and director of operations for Atlantic Scrap. “Harris has been a supplier of processing equipment for our operations for a long time and their shredder fulfilled our needs and requirements.”
Harris Shredder is located in Cordele, Ga., and San Antonio. The company designs shredder systems and downstream solutions. Harris Waste Management Group Inc. is the parent company of Harris Shredder Division.
