The city of Atlanta will host Electronic Waste Recycling Day Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Turner Field Gold lots. The city's residents are encouraged to bring their old computers and household electronics to the event.
Items that will not be accepted are vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, de-humidifiers or humidifiers, gas-powered equipment, tires, household trash and non-electric equipment.
Atlanta Councilmember Carla Smith, Advanced Disposal, Dream Sanitation and Atlanta Recycling Solutions LLC, Keep America Beautiful, Turner Field and the Atlanta Department of Public Works are sponsoring the event.
"We are expecting hundreds of residents to take advantage of this opportunity to properly dispose of many of their household electronics," Smith says.
