The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is presenting a two-day event in April to provide information on the use of asphalt shingles as a pavement material. The Holiday Inn Select in Bloomington, Minn., will host the event on Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14.
According to Mn/DOT, the Second International Forum on Asphalt Shingle Recycling is intended to bring together highway department engineers with people from government agencies, asphalt companies, paving contractors, solid waste agencies and firms, and shingle recycling companies.
Presentations will be made by people currently involved in shingle recycling on the topics of end-use applications, processing techniques and technologies and feedstock supply issues.
The event, funded in part by the Recycled Materials Resource Center, will start Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. with programming ending at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Those interested in finding out more about the event can contact Debra Haugen at Dhaugen1@bitstream.net or can visit www.projects.dot.state.mn.us/uofm/shingles on the Web.
