Arnold “Arne” Grossman died in early January 2015 at age 93. Grossman helped operate a family paper recycling business in Columbus, Ohio, from the mid-1940s (as a returning U.S. Army veteran) until he retired several decades later. The family business, by then known as Grossman Environmental Recycling, was passed along to his son Stephen.
“A true pioneer in our industry, he chose and loved working every day,” says Stephen Grossman. “To Dad, the industry was far more than making a living doing what was right—it was a means to spend every day talking to the people he came to enjoy and develop friendships. He was a real gentleman; Dad will be missed by many.”
Arnold Grossman is survived by his children: Stephen Grossman and Meg MacLeod; Jeffrey and Anita Grossman; and Candi Shoor and son-in-law Jay Shoor. He also is survived by several grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests donations to the Robyn Grossman Fund at Zusman Hospice, Congregation Tifereth Israel or a charity of the donor’s choice. An online guestbook can be found at www.epsteinmemorial.com.
