Guy Amedro, chairman of ‘Usinor Achats’ and of DCFR, the scrap purchasing unit of the ARCELOR group, the world’s largest steel producer, will be replacing Francis Mer, co-chairman of Arcelor, who had been announced as speaker for the BIR Ferrous Division earlier this year.
ARCELOR, which was formed at the beginning of last year, generates an annual production of roughly 50 million metric tons of steel.
In his presentation, Amedro will mainly focus on the organization and strategy of ARCELOR. Part of his report will be dedicated to highlighting structural changes of the steel sector as well as what steel producers expect from their scrap suppliers.
The Ferrous Division plenary session will take place on May 30.
