The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), Manassas, Va., has selected Ricky Young, owner of Young’s Auto Center & Salvage, Benson, N.C., as the Nominating Committee's choice to serve as executive secretary for 2011-2012.
The ARA says that Young will bring significant depth of experience to ARA's executive committee. Young’s experience includes operating both full service and do-it-yourself automotive recycling facilities, and several automotive crushing operations. He will be formally confirmed by ARA's board of directors at the association’s annual meeting in Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 11-15, 2011.
Young is current president of the Carolina Auto Recyclers (CAR) and has been chairman of the association’s Legislative Committee since 1992. He also has served as an ARA director-at-large for several years and participates as a member of the ARA’s Government Affairs Committee.
The ARA notes that Young runs what has become the largest independent auto salvage dealer in the Carolinas. The company has six used parts sales locations, U-pull-it yards, a mobile auto crushing fleet and a global export sales division.
