Akron, Ohio-based Annaco, Inc. will honor Earth Day by paying $0.75 per pound for aluminum cans throughout the week of April 23.
The company says the “Earth Week” price is the highest amount they have ever offered for aluminum cans and is “significantly” above the market price. Annaco is located at
The company recycled millions of aluminum cans from local residents during its 2006 Earth Week event. All of the recycled cans were made into new aluminum rather than being dumped and buried in landfills.
Last year, Annaco provided the opportunity for thousands of area residents to participate in the annual recycling event. The company released a statement stating their goal is to encourage recycling and environmental responsibility while stimulating community interest in Earth Day. They are encouraging all residents and businesses to take advantage of the event.
