Annaco, Akron, Ohio, will celebrate Earth Day the week of April 19 by paying a special premium price of 50 cents per pound for clean aluminum cans and by providing free refreshments for all its customers.
Annaco, 943 Hazel St., recycled millions of aluminum cans from local residents during its 2003 Earth Week celebration, according to a press release from the company. All of the recycled cans were made into new aluminum.
Recycling aluminum not only saves raw materials but also substantially reduces the energy needed to produce new aluminum while diverting this valuable resource from landfills.
Additional information on the event is available by contacting Brian Carlone at (330) 376-1400, ext. 109, or Bob Toth at ext. 101.
