The equipment company Andritz MeWa, Gechingen, Germany, part of Andritz , has received an order from the recycling company Nothnagel Wertstoffverarbeitung GmbH Hartenstein, Germany, for three Universal Granulator UG 1600s.
The equipment will be used by Nothnagel Wertstofferverarbeitung for post-shredding composite waste material, which will largely consist of steel wire and other iron components. The Universal Granulator UG prepares the material in an optimum process, Andritz notes. The feed material is grasped by the rotor knives and shredded in concert with the stationary stator knives.
By using a replaceable screen underneath the rotor, with variable perforation diameters, the throughput can be altered to achieve a specific result. Additionally, the new generation of Andritz MeWa granulators is fitted with a specially controlled pendulum device that increases throughput.
Nothnagel anticipates an increase in throughput of around 15% with the addition of the Andritz granulators.
