Austria-based paper mill technology provider Andritz has been selected to supply a complete old corrugated containers (OCC) and reject treatment system for a recycled-content paperboard mill in Israel, operated by Infinya Containerboard Ltd.
The OCC line will have a capacity of 1,080 bone dry metric tons per day and will use mixed OCC as raw material to produce fluting and testliner for the Israeli market.
Andritz says the key equipment it will deliver includes a complete stock preparation line with a FibreFlow drum pulping system “for gentle slushing and efficient removal of contaminants at minimum fiber loss.”
Additionally, Andritz will install several of its Prime stock preparation products, such as PrimeScreen X screens for screening and fractionation at a lower rate of energy consumption, a PrimeFilter D disc filter with a feed system and an ADuro C shredder as part of the reject treatment system.
The new OCC line will be equipped with an Andritz distributed control system and motor control center, plus field instruments. The firm says it will be responsible for basic and detail engineering, supervision of installation, commissioning and startup service, as well as operator training, with the startup of the new system planned for the third quarter of 2024.
Infinya was established in 1953 and is among the largest recycling and packaging companies in Israel.
