Partnership Eyes Several Recycling Markets

German and U.S. companies create AMNI-Pacific partnership to offer processing systems to electronics, tire and appliance recycling markets.

AMNI Maschinenbau GmbH, Menden, Germany, and Pacific Central Steel, Price, Utah, have formed AMNI-Pacific, a United States-based company that will offer processing equipment to the tire recycling, electronic scrap and municipal solid waste (MSW) markets.

According to a news release, AMNI-Pacific “will specialize in turnkey design to operation facilities that are capable of volume reduction, crumb and mesh production (ambient or cryogenic), circuit board removal, ABS, PS or PP plastics separation, ferrous and nonferrous metal separation, insulation foam reprocessing and more. “

Pacific Central Steel has 28 years of on-site, in-the-field construction experience that includes designing, building, and installing box trusses, surge bins, cantilevered stackers, tail drives and rotary dump systems, according to the news release. The company is led by Ron Piccolo, its president, and Paul Candelaria, vice president.

AMNI Maschinenbau’s roots go back to the1860s with involvement in several industry sectors, including grinding wheels and accessories. In 2006, Michael Bohlefied and Udo Becker, both with experience in shredding technology, took over management of AMNI with the intent of focusing the company’s direction on the recycling market. In 2009, AMNI introduced the X machine, a 100-ton unit that can shred a 16-foot, six-ton OTR (off-road) tire with no pre-cutting or shearing required, according to AMNI-Pacific’s press release.

The new partnership says its resources include a full-scale mechanical and electrical engineering department, on-site construction permits for all 50 states, factory-trained technicians for service or warranty work, a full inventory of spare parts in its warehouses, and complete rebuild and machining services for cutting disks and shafts. “Our initial service area will be the United States, Canada and Mexico,” says the company.
