AMG Resources Corp., Pittsburgh, has acquired a 50 percent stake in Royal Green LLC, a scrap company based near Reading, Pa., that operates two shredding plants.
Royal Green operates both an automobile shredder and what it calls a “specialty clip shredder” at its Temple, Pa., facility.
As part of the agreement, AMG will also become the exclusive marketer of all scrap processed by Royal Green.
“Royal Green is a great processing facility in a key market location,” says Don Forlani, AMG Resources senior vice president. “This transaction will strengthen both AMG and Royal Green and enable both to better serve our customer bases.”
Royal Green’s Jonathan Simon will remain president of Royal Green LLC and Jim Clark will continue to serve as operations manager.
AMG Resources operates 10 facilities, including three shredding plants, and processes more than one million tons of ferrous scrap each year.
