AMG Resources adds operations vice president

Scrap industry veteran Denzil Boss will oversee the company’s ferrous and nonferrous scrap recycling facilities throughout the U.S.

AMG Resources Corp., Pittsburgh, has announced Denzil Boss has joined the company as vice president of operations. Boss will manage the company’s operations and oversee an anticipated expansion of AMG Resources’ ferrous and nonferrous scrap recycling facilities throughout the United States.

Boss has nearly 30 years of experience managing steelmaking and scrap recycling operations. Most recently, he served as vice president of operations services for PSC Metals, Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Boss also previously served as a regional vice president for PSC Metals’ northern operations and managed that company’s operations in Burns Harbor, Indiana; Memphis, Tennessee; and East Chicago, Indiana.

Prior to joining a PSC Metals predecessor company, Cleveland-based Luria Bros., in 1993, Boss spent seven years at U.S. Steel Corp.’s Lorain, Ohio, plant, where he held various engineering and operations management positions.

Boss obtained a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and material science from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and an MBA from Cleveland State University.

“Denzil is one of the most respected operations experts in our industry and will play a key role as AMG Resources continues to improve and expand its physical operations and capabilities in both the ferrous and nonferrous arenas,” says Eric Goldstein, president of AMG Resources.

AMG and its affiliates operate 14 scrap processing facilities and have 19 commercial offices in the United States and United Kingdom. AMG also markets prime and secondary steel in the U.S. and internationally and, through its International Steel & Counterweights affiliate, makes counterweights and other steel fabrications for a variety of applications.
