American Pulverizer Co., St. Louis, has introduced a series of rolling ringmills. The shredder’s rolling ring can deflect and rotate, allowing offset teeth to process materials with less fines generation than a typical hammermill, the company says. The ringmills also operate at a slower speed, increasing wear-part life and creating less heat buildup, according to American Pulverizer.
“The new heavy-duty series of ringmills shreds and liberates turnings, meatballs, tailings, electronics and many other specialty materials for increased profits,” the company says. “The flexibility and ruggedness of the machines allows for economically processing a wide variety of materials with one machine.”
The machines range in size from 24 inches to 60 inches wide and are powered by drives ranging from 60 horsepower to 300 horsepower. They can be direct drive or v-belt driven, American Pulverizer says.
The new design opens hydraulically for instant access to the rotor area, and the grate/screen cage is hydraulically retractable for changing grates/screens.
The machines come equipped with a deflector-style hopper designed to help minimize damage from solids that may enter the mill.
