American Pulverizer and Hustler Conveyor have reached an agreement with OmniSource Corp. to manufacture three 98x104 Heavy-Duty Scrap Shredding and Recovery Systems.
The systems are built around the APCO 98x104 shredder and include the following features:
· Hustler D-4 Cat Track In-feed conveyors
· The 6000 HP main drive motor, liquid rheostat, and Multilin starter will be supplied by WEG Drive Systems Group
· Automatic poker eject systems
· Dual magnetic rotary drum systems
· Closed loop single cut cleaning systems
· Pick/Sort conveyors
· Dual Eddy Current separation systems
· Nonferrous systems designed for online or offline operation
· E-shred electronics control packages
· Water injection systems
OmniSource’s decision to select American Pulverizer/Hustler Conveyor was partially based on the successful construction and installation of the 98x104 system that OmniSource completed last year at its facility in Jackson, Mich.
The Jackson plant was the first system to use the Hustler Automatic Poker ejector, as well as the closed loop ultra clean Air System for further cleaning of ferrous materials.
Skip Anthony, American Pulverizer’s VP, Sales & Service, said, “We worked hard with the OmniSource engineering and shredding people to develop a system that will deliver the highest quality scrap to their customers.”
John Marynowski, executive VP of OmniSource, added, “The outstanding performance and reliability of the American Pulverizer system at our Jackson facility was a key factor in our decision. Based on past performance, we are confident that they will meet our aggressive time frame. The first machine is planned for Indianapolis, and should be in production within a year. Sites for the next two installations will be announced at the appropriate time.”
