St. Louis-based American Pulverizer Co. has introduced a new size reduction machine, a heavy scrap-duty granulator engineered for reliability, precision and ease of maintenance.
The company says its new granulator has been designed to process wire, cable, plastics, rubber, preshredded tires and other polymeric materials.
“The unit combines robust construction with advanced cutting technology,” American Pulverizer says.
The granulator has been designed to offer streamlined service access, incorporating a pivoting upper housing and hopper supported by hydraulic cylinders, according to the company. The same feature allows full access to the rotor and cutting chamber while keeping the housing intact, reducing downtime and improving safety during inspection, cleaning and knife replacement.
The new machine’s frame is built with reinforced steel plate with a rib-reinforced lower housing, delivering what the equipment maker calls maximum structural integrity under continuous operation.
Removable wear plates provide extended service life and simplified replacement during scheduled maintenance intervals, American Pulverizer adds.
The granulator is available with multiple rotor designs with tangential cutting action using chrome-vanadium heat-treated tool steel knives.
