CH2M HILL Lockwood Greene has announced that it has been awarded an engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project of more than $125 million by American Gypsum Co., a subsidiary of Eagle Materials Inc.
The plant is expected to be capable of producing up to 750 million square feet of gypsum wallboard per year, according to a press release from CH2M HILL Lockwood Greene.
“CH2M Lockwood Greene has been a valued partner during our continuing construction expansion, and we look forward to working with them again on this expansion project,” says Dave Powers, president of American Gypsum Co.
Roebuck Buildings of Roebuck, S.C., will be a subcontractor to CH2M HILL Lockwood Greene, as well as Richardson Grading, which will provide the site work, grading and underground utilities.
Construction began April 1, 2006, and is scheduled to be completed in 18 months.
Upon completion, the new plant will be supplied with synthetic gypsum under a supply agreement with Santee Cooper, South Carolina’s state-owned electric and water utility, for use in the production of new wallboard.
Headquartered in Denver, CH2M HILL provides engineering, construction, operations and related technical services.
