American Greenz Receives Grant Money

North Carolina electronics recycler awarded $30,000 from the North Carolina Recycling Business Assistance Center.

Electronics recycling company American Greenz Inc., Morrisville, N.C., has received a $30,000 Recycling Business Development Grant from the North Carolina Recycling Business Assistance Center (RBAC), Raleigh, N.C.

The purpose of the grant program is to reduce the flow of solid waste to disposal facilities and to encourage the recovery of materials from North Carolina’s waste stream.

American Greenz, established in 2009, currently operates two facilities in North Carolina in Morrisville and Henderson and says it plans to expand its operations in neighboring states by offering CRT (cathode ray tube) glass recycling solutions.

The company says it plans to use the grant money to enhance its electronics processing capacity from 220,000 pounds per month to 300,000 pounds per month by purchasing a primary shredder.

American Greenz President Mehul “Max” Patel says, “We thank and appreciate the support provided by RBAC to a company like ours.” He adds that the grant helps recyclers in the state to better realize their potential.

“It is extremely important for us to do more to encourage recycling at all levels,” says American Greenz vice president Anand Chauhan, who handles business operations. “I applaud NC RBAC’s efforts to promote recycling within the state.”
