Ameri-Shred Corp., Alpena, Michigan, says its precision clearance cutterheads are designed to ensure the destruction of M.2 solid-state devices (SSDs) and other small data-bearing media. The company says M.2 SSDs and other small data-bearing devices can pass through some SSD shredders with minimal to no damage if fed improperly to the shredder.
The company says its precision clearance cutterheads are available on all new Ameri-Shred SSD shredders as an upgrade. A retrofit upgrade package also is available on any shredder model purchased after 2018.
Ameri-Shred’s SSD shredders are available in three series: Series 1, which offers from one to 3 horsepower; Series 2, which offers from five to 10 horsepower; to Series 3, which offers from 15 to 20 horsepower. All the SSD shredders are slow-speed and high torque. The Series 1 and Series 2 units can be used in stationary applications or placed in trucks for mobile hard drive shredding, the company says. Series 3 shredders require three-phase power.
