Ameri-Shred Corp., Alpena, Mich., has announced that it will release an adjustable hard drive shear in June.
The AMS-300AS is designed to shear most standard hard drives up to 1 inch thick as well as backup tapes, DVDs and assorted e-scrap, the company says.
The shear can be installed on a mobile shredding truck using existing hydraulics or can be plant based.
The AMS-300AS features a three-horsepower motor, an infeed slot measuring 5.5 inches by 1.5 inches and an adjustable shear capable of producing 0.5-inch to 2.5-inch strips. The shredder is available in voltages of 208, 220, 230 or 460, measures 31.75 inches long by 23.75 inches wide by 36.5 inches high and weighs 600 pounds.
Options include backlit laser burned logos, fork pockets and powder-coat color.
