Ameri-Shred Corp., based in Alpena, Mich., has introduced the PMS-2A paper metering/feed system, an autofeed system designed for midrange, conveyor-fed industrial document shredders in the 15-horsepower to 40-horsepower range.
With the PMS-2A autofeed system, Ameri-Shred says, recyclers have reported that their productivity is increased and their personnel are freed to do other tasks.
“The PMS-2A increased our throughput 25 to 30 percent,” says Craig Greathouse, owner of El Paso Shred, El Paso, Texas.
According to Ameri-Shred, the PMS-2A’s large receiving hopper can be loaded inline or from either side and holds 1,500 pounds of paper. The dual-slider-bed-conveyor system is offered in several belt choices and is quiet and easy to operate, the company says.
The system includes a variable-speed controller for each conveyor, an adjustable metering drum to help maintain a consistent flow and a photo-eye level controller. Although designed for Ameri-Shred shredders, the PMS-2A can be used with most any conveyor-fed shredders, the company says.
