Ameri-Shred, Alpena, Michigan, has added a 2-millimeter solid state drive (SSD) shredder, with the model No. 2mm-SSD, designed to shred SSDs, cellphones, tablets, memory cards, thumb drives, circuit boards and other SSD devices into 2-millimeter particles. This two-stage destruction system uses a 2-horsepower preshredder with 3/8-inch cutters that discharges into a 3-horsepower hammer mill.
The 2mm-SSD will shred up to 50 SSDs pere hour and includes a sound-absorbing lining that results in an 85-decibel level, on average, the company says. All models also include an hour meter and casters.
The 2-cubic-foot discharge bin slides forward for easy access. Additional options include an infeed conveyor, air filtration system, additional screen sizes, lighted viewing window, fork pockets, backlit logo and choice of powder coat color.
