During its quarterly earnings report, Australia-based Amcor announced that it will be building a new recycled paperboard mill in Australia.
The new board mill, to be built in Botany, New South Wales, Australia, will have an annual capacity of 345,000 metric tons of recycled paper. The cost of the new facility will be around $211 million.
The company hopes to break ground later this year, and have the facility completed and operational within the next two to three years.
Amcor presently has two paper mills presently located in Botany Plant. These two machines are expected to be closed when the new facility is completed. The two facilities combined operate three paper machines, and produce around 370,000 metric tons of finished product a year.
