Los Angeles-based material science company Ambercycle and China-based Benma Group have partnered to scale textile circularity through the production of Ambercycle’s Cycora fibers, a regenerated polyester alternative to virgin polyester.
Ambercycle says this collaboration will expand Cycora’s product offerings to global brands through the production of staple fiber and will introduce the material into the Chinese value chain.

“Ambercycle has proven to be a leader in advancing circular solutions, and we are proud to collaborate with them to scale this groundbreaking innovation,” Benma Chairman Xu Guoliang says. “Decarbonized polyester is essential for driving the sustainability of our industry. This partnership enhances our ability to deliver a broader range of high-quality, circular fibers, empowering our global brand partners to meet their sustainability goals.”
The Ambercycle and Benma partnership will advance the availability of regenerated staple fibers, the companies say, leveraging Benma’s manufacturing infrastructure and Ambercycle’s circular material technology.
“Partnering with Benma allows us to expand Cycora’s potential by diversifying its applications into staple fibers,” Ambercycle co-founder and CEO Shay Sethi says. “Their investment in our scale-up efforts underscores a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability. This collaboration not only supports our ability to scale but also creates new pathways for brands to integrate circular materials into their supply chains and products.”
