U.K.-headquartered Reed Exhibitions says its Aluminum USA will showcase the potential of the American aluminum industry Oct. 25-27 in Nashville, Tennessee. Following the successful 2015 premiere in Detroit, the trade show is moving to the Music City Center in Nashville for its second event. The Aluminum Association, Arlington, Virginia, will serve as a partner in the event, which features an educational program and a diverse range of goods and services offered by exhibitors.
Featuring about 200 international exhibitors from the U.S., Canada and overseas, Aluminum USA covers the industry’s varied deployment and growth opportunities. More than 2,000 trade visitors, including decision-makers from aluminum manufacturing and processing, distributors and associations are expected to attend the trade show.
Nearly 160 exhibitors have confirmed their participation in the show, including key U.S. players and international companies. The list ranges from Wagstaff to Pyrotek and Novelis PAE to Export Quebec. In addition to The Aluminum Association, event partners include Light Metal Age Magazine, the Tennessee Automotive Manufacturers Association (TAMA), ALUFOIL and the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI).
Professionals from all segments of the aluminum value chain can look forward to an informative program. One focus, for example, will be on sustainability. In addition, competencies and expertise will be conveyed in workshops, plant tours and lectures. Topics include aluminum packaging, presented by the Global Aluminum Foil Roller Initiative; the use of aluminum in Ford’s new F-Series truck; and the next generation of additive manufacturing.
The U.S. represents the world’s third-largest aluminum market, generating sales of $65 billion and providing more than 160,000 jobs. Aluminum demand in the U.S. and Canada has soared by nearly 40 percent since 2009 and to meet the auto industry’s increasing demand for aluminum, The Aluminum Association member companies have announced plant investments of $2.3 billion since 2013.
General Motors, Nissan North America and Volkswagen Group of America have operations in Nashville and the surrounding region. They’re joined by 1,000 automotive suppliers and more than 100,000 Tennessee residents who are employed in car manufacturing.
With the launch of Aluminum USA in 2015, Reed Exhibitions continues to expand its global operations. Aluminum USA joins the Aluminium World Trade Fair in Germany (Düsseldorf) and aluminum shows in China (Shanghai), India (Mumbai), the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Brazil (São Paulo) as its sixth industry event.
