Columbia Falls Aluminum announced that it is idling two of its potlines at its Montana aluminum smelter. The facility is located near Kalispell. The shutdown is to begin immediately. The company announced that the two potlines will remain idled until market conditions improve.
Columbia Falls Aluminum is a unit of Glencore International. The facility has a total of three potlines. The company cited soaring energy costs as one reason for the decision to shut down two of the lines.
