The Aluminum Association-sponsored Cans for Habitat program is announcing a month-long promotion it is calling Recycling Double Play.
During July, all proceeds earned from can recycling for Habitat will be matched by the aluminum industry, doubling the money earned by affiliates. As an extra incentive, the industry will reward the Habitat affiliate who recycles the highest amount of cans with an additional $10,000.
Through Cans for Habitat, a national partnership between The Aluminum Association and Habitat for Humanity International, anyone can support Habitat without swinging a hammer.
The Recycling Double Play promotion was recently launched from the site of The Aluminum Association-sponsored house at the 2005 JCWP in Benton Harbor, MI.

When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).
