Alter Names Operations VP

Former River Metals employee Tim Bernstein named to post.

Tim Bernstein has joined Alter Trading Corp., St. Louis, as vice president of operations. Previously, Bernstein was general manager of the David J. Joseph River Metals Recycling facility in Louisville, Ky.

Prior to that he was general manager at JAX Can Buyers in Jacksonville, Fla., and a purchasing agent at London Iron & Metal in Atlanta.

 

“Due to our phenomenal growth over the past two years and future growth plans we needed to expand our executive operating group,” says Rob Goldstein, president of Alter Trading Corp. “Tim Bernstein’s extensive experience will be a great asset as we consider new acquisitions and the installation of more state-of-the-art equipment at existing facilities.”

 

Bernstein will be responsible for the Burlington, Davenport, Peoria, and Quincy Alter Trading scrap recycling facilities in Iowa and Illinois, according to the company.

 

Founded in 1898, Alter Trading is a privately owned, fourth-generation company with six trading offices and 18 processing facilities in the United States.
