The board of directors of the Colorado Association for Recycling (CAFR) have elected Brent Hildebrand president of its board. Hildebrand is vice president of recycling at Alpine Waste & Recycling, located in Commerce City, Colo.
According to a release, Brent Hildebrand runs Alpine’s Altogether Recycling Plant that opened in 2007 and expanded last year by 66 percent. In 2009, Hildebrand received the “Sustainability Champion” award from the Colorado Environmental Partnership and the Colorado Public Health and Environment for innovating Alpine’s efforts to promote recycling in Colorado.
“I am proud to serve the recycling industry and achieve an even greater impact in Alpine’s ongoing environmental stewardship through my participation as president of the CAFR board,” says Hildebrand.
“We are excited to have Brent in this key position, and we look forward to tapping into his extensive Colorado recycling knowledge to better serve CAFR members and the citizens of Colorado,” says Marjie Griek, executive director of CAFR.
Alpine handles more than 300,000 tons of recyclables per year.
