Allied Waste Industries said second -quarter earnings rose 2 percent as the company matched expectations despite weak recycling commodity prices.
The company reported a profit of $43.9 million, excluding one-time acquisition related costs, compared with $43.0 million a year earlier.
The company, which runs 332 collection operations, 151 transfer stations, 71 recycling centers and 165 landfills in 39 states, said quarterly revenues fell to $1.41 billion from $1.46 billion a year earlier.
