All Green Electronics Recycling, a Tustin, Calif.-based electronics recycling firm specializing in secure IT asset disposition and data destruction services, has recently been certified to the e-Stewards, ISO 14001 and R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices) standards. ISO 14001 certification of environmental management systems is a requirement of the e-Stewards and R2 standards.
According to a news release, All Green Electronics Recycling opted for certification in response to a federal directive requiring all electronic scrap generated by federal agencies and by U.S. government contractors working with taxpayer-subsidized electronics to be directed to certified electronics recyclers.
Arman Sadeghi, CEO of All Green, says he was inspired to enter the e-waste business in 2008 after seeing the 60 Minutes episode where the Basel Action Network (BAN) exposed the horrors of U.S. exported electronic scrap poisoning people and the environment in developing countries.
“These third-party audits hold our e-waste recycling and data destruction practices to the highest standards and underscore our mission to process end of life electronics responsibly,” Sadeghi adds. “They also ensure that our health and safety policies go well beyond those required by law. When you consider the new U.S. federal directives and the increased pace in which technology advances, this is near perfect timing in earning these rigorous certifications."
