Alcoa Partners with NRC to Provide Recycling Bins

Alcoa will be providing 25,000 recycling bins.

The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) and Alcoa Recycling Co. have announced the rollout of an initiative to improve access to recycling. Working with state affiliates of the NRC, Alcoa will be providing approximately 25,000 recycling bins for placement in a variety of settings, including schools, government and office buildings and low-income communities.

The first distribution of bins will be in Georgia, in cooperation with the Georgia Recycling Coalition, as part of the state’s Greening the Capitol event scheduled for Feb. 12.

Over the next few months, bins will be distributed to an additional 17-18 state recycling organizations that are affiliated with the NRC.

The NRC is a nonprofit organization that includes government and non-government service providers, small to multi-national consumer product and commodity manufacturers, advocates and regulators all with the common mission to enhance and encourage recycling.

Alcoa is a leading producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina. The company serves the aerospace, automotive, packaging, building and construction, commercial transportation and industrial markets.
